Gareth has just stood down as First XI captain, making way for Andrew Stewart, and has now taken the role of Vice Captain. Gareth has been at Alnwick from playing Juniors right the way through ranks and hopes that his proggress through the club will encourage other talented young players to aim for the same.
Gareth recently enjoyed a trip to New Zealand (06/07) where he was at the Howell Cricket Acadamy in Tauranga on New Zealands north island. Gareth played his club cricket over there at Greerton cc who he helped win the league title after a 38 year drought.
Gareth has represented Northumberland at under 17 and under 19 age groups and was recently called into the Northumberland and Tynside Senior league under 21 team.
